Accomplishments
of Week Ending 1/16/07
1) Singlet lens mounting issue is
almost completely resolved. A
Test Readiness Review was held which
covered the modified mount
and procedure (0.5mm gap at bottom of
mount was removed, order
of tightnening bolts revised, and a
different torque wrench has
been selected) with intent of proceeding
with mounting and testing
this week.
2) Analysis of data on the passive
friction device shows no
torque increase between room temperature
and cryo. Position
repeatability test will be performed in early
Feb.
3) Filter wheel assembly was the
subject of an internal review
and the revised design now passes both
the 1st freq spec and the
design limit loads on the mounting
flexures.
4) Closure has not been reached with
Barr on how to measure the
transmitted wavefront error and telecons are
being held every day to
resolve this issue.
